few kilometres from Manciano, along the Valley River Fiora, was born the civilization of tuff, the main local geological which marked the landscape in an original and unique deep gorges in the rock and country built entirely in black tuff, clinging to flanks of rugged rocks, dominated by castles, towers and steeples, important Etruscan and Roman settlements, as Sovana which is famous for possessing the most beautiful artistic tombs of Etruria

Pitigliano very close together with Sorano and Sovana, completes the triangle that was fortified by Aldobrandeschi although undoubtedly exceeds the neighbouring villages for the spectacular panoramic position.

Very interested in the archaeological area and the Etruscan necropolis of Sovana, with the Tomda Ildebranda, one of the most important monuments of civilization of the Etruscans
